Shri Purnendu Shekhar Mishra, General Manager of South Eastern Railway will look after the work of General Manager East Coast Railway till the posting of new General Manager after superannuation of Shri Umesh Singh, who has retired on 30th November, 2018. Shri Purnendu Mishra is a resident of Bhubaneswar.
Shri Mishra joined in Indian Railways Traffic Service in 1982. He has acquired vast knowledge and experience in Train Operations after joining in Indian Railways.
Shri Mishra worked in various important capacities like Advisor/Safety & Executive Director (Corporate Communication, Railway Board and Divisional Railway Manager/Raipur in South East Central Railway/Bilaspur and Chief Operations Manager in Western Railway. He has worked previously in many crucial posts in East Coast Railway.
Shri Mishra has taken charge of East Coast Railway at a crucial time when many important projects are in crucial stage of construction or commissioning. It is expected that he will take up various issues facing East Coast Railway with various Stakeholders, including State Governments, and other Departments involved to expedite infrastructural projects.
